Java Tutorial - Java Script :
Selecting Your Tool
Now that we know what the different pieces of our architecture are and what they do, it’s time to choose the specific tools we’ll use. The tools we have to decide upon are as follows:
Web server: This chapter assumes that you either do not need a Web server or that you have chosen the Apache Web server. By virtue of the fact that this book supports the use of open source tools and that the Apache Web server is the most popular Web server in the world today, we assume that if you do need a Web server it will be Apache. Apache is free, open source, and available for most popular operating systems.
Servlet container. We will follow the process outlined in Chapter 3 in order to decide which servlet engine will be used for the platform. As a reminder, this process goes through four steps:
· Survey the products.
· Determine the project’s needs.
· Evaluate the products.
· Select a product
