Installing JBoss in Windows

After downloading JBoss, unzip the files into the directory in which you want JBoss to be installed. The recommended directory for Windows is C:\jboss. The files should be extracted under a folder named jboss-VERSION, where VERSION is the version number for that release of JBoss. We will refer to this folder as the JBoss home directory, or %JBOSS_HOME%[NR2], when it is referred to inside a path. After extracting all the files, you need to add the JBOSS_HOME variable to your environment. The basic method of doing so in Windows is by changing the settings in the System applet in the Control Panel by choosing Advanced Environment Variables.
